Youth Member Application - GRAC Board of Directors
The Gateway Regional Arts Center is committed to ensuring youth voices are heard in its programming and strategic planning. In order to live up to this goal, the Board of Directors of the Gateway Regional Arts Center is excited to announce the addition of a Youth Member (age 16-20) that will serve a full term on the GRAC Board. This young person will be a full voting member of the Montgomery County Council for the Arts Board of Directors, including all rights and responsibilities given to adult board members as permitted by law. 

To apply for this position, interested young people should complete the form below and submit by December 12, 2022. The Board of Directors will review applications and recommend an applicant for a vote. The Executive Director will notify the new member by December 15, 2022. The Youth Board Member will serve a truncated term starting in February 2023 and ending in June 2023.

The Youth Board Member will serve as the Chair of the GRAC Youth Advisory Council and will be tasked with setting meetings, attracting new youth council members, and coordinating with the Executive Director about new youth programming. 

Applicants should be:
- Between the ages of 16-20
- Residents of Montgomery County or surrounding counties 
- Interested and passionate about arts & culture 
- Able to attend a monthly Board of Director meeting (2nd Tuesday of each month) 
- Skilled at public speaking
- Excellent critical thinker 
- Willing to volunteer time at GRAC events & programs
